Foundation in Hospitality

Reliance College is Malaysia’s most established hospitality and tourism education brand. The college started in the early 1980’s as the Reliance Training Centre. It was setup to train Tour Guides for Reliance Travel. By the mid 1980’s, the student population outgrew the training centre and Reliance College was then formed in 1987 to serve the growing student population. The College has over 35 years of history and experience in grooming hospitality and tourism management graduates. Many of these graduates are now in top management positions in the region’s hospitality industry.

As the leading hospitality college in the country, Reliance has a proud tradition of producing job ready graduates. A fitting confirmation to this tradition has put the College’s annual graduate employability average at 92%. (2019 – 2021 Reliance Employability Survey).

This highly successful employability rate is attributed to relevance of the curriculum and the teaching faculty of Reliance all of whom have industry experience. Further confirming this is feedback from the industry’s most prestigious brands, who have placed Reliance graduates as being the preferred choice.

Another feature of the College’s track record is its long standing relationship with prominent industry operators. This means that 90% of Reliance students have internships with top brands like Four Seasons, The St. Regis, The Westin, Shangri-La, Hilton, Roystar Travel & Tours, Mayflower Holidays, Apple Vacations, PICO Events & Entertainment and Bravo Events & Entertainment.

Over the years, students have not only had internships locally, but in leading tourist destinations like Phuket, Bangkok and Singapore.
