Course Highlight/ Description

The Diploma in Nursing is designed to prepare students to be qualified as a Registered Nurse. This programme focuses both on the ‘care’ aspects of nursing as well as on the ‘science’ of health care in preparing the nurse to provide a safe, caring, competent and professional nursing care to each person’s unique needs across the life span continuum.

Entry Requirement

i. Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia
(SPM) or *Equivalent with five (5)
ii. Mandatory credit in:
x Bahasa Melayu
x Mathematics (Elementary or
Additional or Modern)
Either one (1) of the credits below
x General Science
x Biology
x Chemistry and Pass in Biology
x Physics and Pass in Biology
iii. Credit in two (2) other
Pass in English.
Health status:
i. All candidates must be certified
medically fit by a registered
medical practitioner within one
month from commencement of
the nursing programme.
ii. Candidates with any of the
following medical conditions
cannot be admitted into the
programme such as
• Hepatitis B
• Hepatitis C
• Mental health disorders
• Epilepsy
• Colour blindness
iii. Candidate must not have any
physical disabilities or impaired
senses that hinder nursing
iv. Pregnancy is not allowed
throughout the course
